Hi, I'm the Maker Behind HexPickr

I've spent over 20 years wandering through the world of technology. I started out as a Junior Software Engineer and eventually found myself in the role of Head of IT. While I loved the strategy of leadership, I always missed the simple joy of actually creating something from scratch.

A Love for Pixels and Palettes

Outside of the office, my life has always been filled with color. I'm a huge fan of photography and logo design. A few years ago, I was lucky enough to be named Second Runner-Up in the National Geographic Photo Contest, an experience that deepened my obsession with how colors interact in the real world.

Why I Built This

I remember the "old days" of web development quite vividly. If I needed to grab a few colors from an image, I'd have to fire up a massive program like Photoshop. It felt like a "heavy loading project" just to do a tiny task. It was slow, expensive, and honestly, a bit of a headache when you just wanted to get things done promptly.

I wanted a tool that was fast, light, and actually understood what a developer needs.

Rediscovering the Joy of "Vibe Coding"

For a long time, I didn't do much coding myself. But when AI and the "Vibe Coding" movement started, something clicked. I realized I could enjoy building software again. I could focus on the vision and the "vibe" of the tool, while letting AI assistants help with the heavy lifting. That's how HexPickr came to life.

Meet Hexy (My Tribute to Manga)

If you've noticed the little purple chameleon on the site, that's Hexy. Since I was a kid, I've been a huge fan of Japanese manga. I've always loved how Japanese culture creates cute, meaningful mascots to give products a bit of "soul."

Hexy is a reflection of that. Just like a chameleon, she can "absorb" the colors from any image and show them right on her body. She's here to make your color workflow a little more cheerful and a lot faster.
